Is laser eye surgery painful?

During the treatment you will not feel any pain, because your eyes will be numbed with eye drops. The experience of the recovery period can vary from person to person. Pain is different for everyone and difficult to measure.
Each method has a different level of comfort in the recovery period. With surface treatments such as TransPRK and Lasek, the outer layer of the cornea is removed. The first 3 to 5 days your eyes are sensitive or even painful because this has to recover. Many people experience this as unpleasant. Deep treatments such as ReLEx SMILE and IntraLasik are experienced as more comfortable.
