What is cataract?
Cataracts are the clouding of your natural eye lens due to aging. The clouding occurs when proteins in your natural eye lens clump together. This causes images to be projected less sharply onto the retina. The speed at which cataracts develop is different for everyone.
Some symptoms of cataract formation are:
- Blurred vision
- Less perception of colours – greyer image
- Double vision or shadow images in 1 eye
- Light glare or glare from light
- Changing prescription
- More light needed when reading
