Quality
If you are going for an eye treatment, always check whether these quality marks are present. They guarantee the quality of the eye clinic, techniques used and ophthalmologists. Naturally, FYEO is a ZKN-certified clinic and all ophthalmologists are BIG and NGRC registered.
ZKN
Zelfstandige Klinieken Nederland is the Dutch trade association for independent clinics. The ZKN quality mark guarantees the best medical care. From medical practice to organization. The strict quality requirements are based on legal guidelines. Every year, an external auditor carries out a thorough and strict audit. Entirely under the supervision of the Health Care Inspectorate. We are proud to have been a ZKN-certified clinic for years.
NGRC
The Dutch Society of Refractive Surgery guarantees the quality and safety of refractive surgery in the Netherlands. This includes eye laser treatments and lens implantation. Furthermore, the chairmanship of the NGRC lies with the medical director of FYEO.
The NGRC is a working group of the Dutch Ophthalmological Society, abbreviated as NOG. The working group guarantees the quality of refractive surgery in the Netherlands. They do this by drawing up guidelines for the safe and responsible practice of refractive surgery. These guidelines are formulated in the Refractive Surgery Consensus.
BIG
BIG stands for Professions in Individual Healthcare in Dutch. In the BIG register you can check whether you are dealing with a competent healthcare provider. The register is based on the eponymous Act on Professions in Individual Healthcare. The law must maintain the quality of healthcare. The law also protects clients against unskilled and careless actions by healthcare providers. All our ophthalmologists are BIG registered.
The Dutch Ophthalmological Society monitors the quality of eye care in the Netherlands. In addition, the NOG facilitates ophthalmologists in their profession. The NOG assesses whether surgeons meet the highest quality standards in the field of technical care, client treatment and result processing. All FYEO ophthalmologists are members of the NOG.
