What is IntraLasik

This comfortable eye laser method is very commonly used. This treatment is also called the ‘flap method’. This is because the cornea is “flapped” to the side during the treatment. This ensures a quick recovery in which you also experience no pain.

IntraLasik: the flap method

The IntraLasik eye laser treatment is performed by 2 different lasers. By delivering ultrafast pulses of light into the cornea, small air bubbles are created. This air pressure causes the corneal flap on 1 side to loosen. Then the ophthalmologist can flip this flap so that the next laser can correct the vision.

Exactly how long it takes depends on your strength deviation. The higher your strength, the more time the laser takes. As a final step, the ophthalmologist flips the corneal flap back into place. This immediately covers your eye again and you experience little to no discomfort during recovery.

IntraLasik - Step by step

1: Anesthesia with eye drops.
2: Making flap with a laser (takes up to 1 minute).
3: Flipping the flap.
4: Strength deviation correction with a laser (takes up to 30 seconds per eye).
5: Folding back the flap.
