Additional options for your treatment

* We recommend having the treatment performed customized. We then take into account the specific shape of your cornea. This ensures better quality and that your vision is maintained or even improved after the treatment.

** We apply monovision to treat initial reading complaints. We fully focus one eye for distance and the other eye more sharply on near. This allows you to function longer without reading glasses.

What to expect

1. Free preliminary examination
arrow_forward

Free preliminary examination

The preliminary examination is always free, without obligation, and consists of two parts. During the first part, your eyes are thoroughly measured. This includes checking your refractive error, the structure of your eyes, the overall health of your eyes, and whether you are suitable for treatment. The second part is a consultation with the ophthalmologist who will ultimately perform your treatment.

2. Tailored treatment advice

Tailored treatment advice

Together with the ophthalmologist, you will discuss which treatment will yield the best result for you. In addition to all the measurements that have been taken, your personal situation is also considered. This includes your hobbies, profession, and other factors that are important for your vision. We offer all treatments in-house, enabling us to provide you with the best advice.

3. Treatment

Treatment

The treatment takes place in one of our clinics by the ophthalmologist you spoke with during the consultation. This way, you will see a familiar face right away, which is comforting. You will receive detailed information beforehand to prepare you optimally.

4. Aftercare & check-ups

Aftercare & check-ups

Quality is our priority. Therefore, aftercare is an essential part of your treatment process. Check-ups are indispensable in this regard, as they allow us to monitor your recovery.

At what strength is laser eye surgery possible? arrow_downward

Theoretically, strengths between -12 and +4.5 can be treated. These are the maximum strength deviations that may be treated. Taking into account the best result and safe and responsible laser eye surgery, the maximum strength that is treated is lower.

Laser eye surgery as a treatment is not always an option. Alternative treatments can be ExtraLenzen, the Readon treatment or ReplaceLenzen. Your eyes can also be lasered with a minimum minus deviation of -0.75 and with a minimum plus deviation of +0.50.

Does laser eye surgery provide permanent results? arrow_downward

This is a question that is often asked. The result is in principle permanent: the effect cannot be undone. With laser eye treatment, the shape of your cornea is adjusted. This process is irreversible.

Research shows that the cornea recovers well and stably after laser eye surgery. This does not mean that your eyes and your prescription cannot change over the years. As you get older, you may develop cataracts or need reading glasses.

Reading glasses due to aging
Many people wonder whether they need reading glasses after laser eye surgery. The fact that you need reading glasses as you get older has nothing to do with your cornea, but with your eye lens. As you get older, your eye lens can no longer focus for close-up. You then suffer from presbyopia . This is therefore separate from the laser eye surgery. A solution for this is a lens implant . In most cases, we therefore recommend this if you are at an age where it is likely that you will soon have reading problems.

Request a preliminary examination

Your preliminary examination is always free and without obligation and includes eye tests and a consultation with the eye specialist.
