Passerby rate - Reimbursement of medical indication via health insurer

If there is a medical indication, you may be entitled to partial reimbursement from your health insurance. In this case, the so-called passerby rates are used. These rates are an approximation of our actual costs of the part of your treatment for which you are entitled to reimbursement. The health insurer checks whether these rates are realistic. The passerby rate is also stated on the healthcare invoice that you receive from us, in order to be able to declare the reimbursement with your health insurer.

The amount that a health insurer reimburses is not equal to this passerby rate. The amount of your reimbursement depends on the type of basic insurance that you have. Your health insurer can tell you all about this.

After the consultation with the doctor, you will receive a quotation. The quotation states the current rate for non-contracted patients. The quotation date, and not the treatment date, determines which rate for non-contracted patients applies.
