FYEO takes over Worldeye Netherlands

FYEO is expanding its network of eye clinics through the proposed acquisition of the Worldeye Netherlands clinic in Amsterdam. FYEO is one of the most progressive private clinics in Europe for refractive surgery. Through the various types of treatments offered by FYEO and Worldeye, people can choose to live without glasses.
With the acquisition of Worldeye, FYEO is adding a strong and experienced market player to its portfolio, where, just like with FYEO, high-quality and client-oriented treatments are a given. Worldeye’s specialized clinic in Amsterdam has ultramodern operating rooms for laser eye treatments and lens implants. Thanks to the acquisition, FYEO clients can now also go to Amsterdam for all treatments. FYEO has clinics throughout the Netherlands for laser eye surgery and lens replacement treatments. The acquisition fits within FYEO’s growth strategy and strengthens its leading position in the Netherlands.
Since the founding of FYEO in 2002 and with the acquisition of Vision Ooglaseren in July 2020, 50,000 clients have been helped to their satisfaction. FYEO was recently named the ‘best clinic 2021 in the field of refractive surgery’ by Elsevier for the fourth time.
Rens Schoenmakers, CEO at FYEO: “We look forward to offering our clients innovative alternatives to glasses together with Worldeye. We had a great need for expansion in Amsterdam and are therefore very happy with this acquisition. In the Netherlands, approximately ten million people wear glasses or contact lenses and an increasing number of them want to get rid of them. FYEO, together with Worldeye, offers its clients the opportunity to live without glasses.”
Committed Capital has had a majority stake in FYEO since 2018. Albert van der Wal, partner at Committed Capital, “is delighted that FYEO, with its team of over 100 employees and specialists, is experiencing a period of strong growth. The acquisition of Worldeye, which follows within 8 months of the acquisition of Vision Ooglaseren, fits in very well with this development”.
