Will my lens implant be reimbursed?

It is possible that your lens implantation will be partially reimbursed. You will receive this reimbursement from your basic insurance or supplementary insurance. Read the policy conditions of your insurance. Are you eligible for reimbursement? Let us know. After your treatment, you will then receive a special healthcare invoice. You must submit this to your health insurer.

We meet the conditions

FYEO meets the additional conditions that most health insurers impose on an eye clinic:

We are ZKN certified (Independent Clinics Netherlands);
Our ophthalmologists have a BIG registration;
Our ophthalmologists are members of the NOG (Dutch Ophthalmological Society).

Reimbursement from basic insurance

Do you have a medical indication? Then your lens implantation will be partially reimbursed from your basic insurance. The ophthalmologist who treats you will determine the medical indication. He or she will do this based on the measurement data from the preliminary examination. A medical indication exists if you have cataracts or a special prescription in combination with contact lens intolerance. Your health insurer will determine the amount of reimbursement. This varies per health insurer and depends on the type of basic insurance (in kind or reimbursement). Please note that in this case you will pay your own risk.

Reimbursement from supplementary insurance

Whether you will receive compensation from your supplementary insurance depends on your insurance package. Read the policy conditions for this. These also state how high the possible compensation is. If you are entitled to compensation, this is always a one-off amount for the complete treatment of two eyes. You do not have to pay your own risk for this compensation.
