Drs. Ceciel van den Berg

Boundless experience

Drs. Ceciel van den Berg studied medicine at Leiden University. She subsequently specialized as an ophthalmologist at the leading Charité Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, one of Europe’s most renowned academic hospitals in the field of ophthalmology.

During and after her training, she gained surgical experience through fellowships in
Suriname and India. This intensive practical experience has further refined her surgical precision and decisiveness. “It is precisely by performing many surgeries that you develop the intuition and accuracy needed to make a difference for patients. I bring that experience to my work at FYEO every day.”

Perfecting

Since 2019, Drs. van den Berg has worked as an ophthalmologist at Oogcentrum Noord-Holland. Since the beginning of 2025, she has also been affiliated with FYEO. “At FYEO, the bar is set high. I get to help clients who want perfect vision without glasses or lenses. There is no room here for anything other than perfection. We strive for the highest possible result, and that gives me a tremendous amount of energy. By nature, I am also someone who constantly wants to improve.”

Focusing purely on the content

Drs. van den Berg has a distinct hands-on mentality. She loves performing surgery but sees her role as an advisor as at least as important. “I really seek contact to properly understand someone’s motivations. What is behind it? Why does someone want to get rid of their glasses or lenses? Every piece of advice is customized down to the micrometer. If expectations are not realistic, you have to discuss that honestly and sometimes even advise against a treatment. It has to be 100% right.”
