Someone who takes the time for her clients. That is what Dr. Lenneke de Visser describes best. The kind of ophthalmologist you would like to have in front of you during your consultation. Accessible, sincere and not short-sighted. “I use a lot of text to explain everything clearly. I like to hear from clients what their wishes are. It is important to give them the space for this.”

Dr. De Visser believes it is important that clients are happy and satisfied. “I like to invest time and energy in that. Even if someone is not or less satisfied. Then I talk to people and try to find solutions to make them satisfied again. I really do my best for that.”

Everything has to be right

Dr. De Visser always wanted to be a doctor since she was a child. Not only to make people better, but also mainly because of her interest in the human body. “I am interested in delving deeper into everything. I always want to know how things work. That is why I enjoy learning different techniques so much. What is the dynamic in such an eye and the technology around it? Everything has to be perfect.”

Switch to FYEO

Her study and working life in general ophthalmology in hospitals has always taken place in Utrecht. Until Dr. De Visser made the switch to FYEO in 2022. “Although I love cataract operations, after all, no eye is the same, I was ready for a new challenge. I wanted to learn new things. I didn’t see that opportunity in the hospital. I decided to go for refractive surgery. I haven’t regretted it for a single day since my switch.”

Best care

According to Dr. De Visser, the differences between hospital care and FYEO’s client approach are enormous. “In the hospital, I saw 50 to 60 patients a day. You get used to how to speak to people in a quick, but satisfying way. At FYEO, everything is focused on what we as doctors need to provide the best care. I don’t have to maintain production. That’s nice and important. At FYEO, the client really is central.”
